Busy weekend! Grace had her 1st High School Homecoming Dance on Saturday.
On Sunday I hosted a Family Get Together. My brother was out from South Carolina. It was great seeing him and everyone else.
I did some cooking on Sunday for the party. I am going to share a few of those dishes. I will post the other ones at a later date.
These 2 recipes are super duper easy! The first one, Baked Havarti is my most requested recipe.
Baked Havarti
- Crescent Rolls
- Block of Havarti cheese
- Lemon dill seasoning
- Champagne mustard
Some stores you can buy Havarti in a package. You can also go to your deli and ask them to cut you a chunk about 2 inches thick.
I usually only use the Cherchies Brand of lemon dill. I use to use their champagne mustard also but it is hard to find. Actually…Champagne mustard is getting hard to find in store. I may have to order online. Here is Cherchies website. http://www.cherchies.com/index.html .
Preheat oven to 375 F
I did not do such a good job of sealing 😦
Bake at 375 for approximately 25 minutes. You will need to check it frequently to see how it is doing.
Every once in a while I will experiment with different flavored mustard’s and seasonings. It always turns out good.
Merry Tomatoes
- Peppar Vodka
- grape tomatoes
- 1/4 cup lemon pepper
- 1 tsp celery salt
You can use regular vodka but I like the peppar because it has a hint of pepper in it. It also makes GREAT Bloody Marys along with Zing Zang bloody Mary Mix http://zingzangcom.easystorecreator.com/
I should have take a photo of it with seasoning on it. But it was kind of crazy yesterday.
Thank you everyone for all the comments. I love getting them. That way I know someone is out there reading this 😉
Most of you know I am totally re-doing my kitchen. The fun starts this week with removing wall paper. I am not looking forward to that but keeping the final vision in my head. So if anyone is looking for something to do 🙂 we would gladly accept the help.
So thinking about this remodeling which will not be done until late December and current cabinets are to be out by November 1st….I am thinking my blog will be How to Cook Without a Kitchen! Ha! Stay tuned!
If you want a good champagne mustard recipe, let me know. It is a little sweet/hot with tarragon vinegar. (If I didn’t give it to you already.)
i would like the good champagne mustard recipe because Jill’s appetizer looks great….my email is ellen.isert@gmail.com thanks.
Jim, Please share the recipe 🙂
Here it is for everyone. I use Coleman’s dry English mustard in the recipe, and whatever champagne is left over in the fridge. (Or use it as an excuse to open a new bottle!) It makes a great sandwich mustard, mix it with mayo for a dip or even straight if you like it hot!
Champagne Mustard
3/4 cup sugar
2 oz ground English Mustard
3 eggs, beaten together
3/4 cup brut champagne
1/4 cup tarragon vinegar
In top of double boiler, stir together sugar and dry mustard. Using wire whisk, stir in eggs, champagne and vinegar. Place over simmering water. Cook, whisking frequently, until thickened, about 8 minutes or so. Pour into sterilized jars. (I use Tupperware and use it within a month.) Cover and refrigerate
Gracie looks absolutely stunning in this picture. Very pretty:) And of course the recipe look great once again! I will have to give that tomato recipe a whirl!
Jill, I tried both the cinnamon rolls and the brownies, they were great !
Jill, I love how you show us step by step and all the pictures of the ingredients!!
Double yum, Jill!
Yea, two of my all-time-favorite appetizer recipes of yours! Thanks for sharing, (the tomatoes are making me thirsty for that bloody mary!)
Gracie looks beautiful!
