Oriental Salad

Well, I was waiting to post because I wanted to include a photo I had taken with Guy Fieri. His people take the photos then post them on the website. They haven’t done that yet. So stay tuned about the book signing….it was exciting 🙂

The weekend was filled with graduation parties. I had the opportunity to meet someone who follows my blog from the Chicago area. Thanks for following me Sue! Let me know when you in the area again!

This recipe came from Golf League. It is yummy and easy. I made it for a graduation party this weekend.

Oriental Salad

  • 2 heads napa cabbage (cut off end and slice)
  • 5 green onions (thinly sliced)

Put the about ingredients in a bowl

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 package ramen noodle, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup silvered almonds
  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds

Melt butter add ramen noodles, cook until lightly brown. Add almonds, cook until lightly brown, Add sunflower and sesame seeds. Cook until lightly toasted. Remove from heat and cool.

Dressing:

Heat 2 Tablespoons soy sauce, 1/2 cup cider vinegar and 3/4 cup sugar. Heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and add 1 cup vegetable  canola oil. Mix and refrigerate.

When ready to serve, mix all ingredients. You may not need to use all that dressing. Add a little at a time toss…repeat until you get the desired amount.

sauté crushed ramen noodle in melted butter.

add sesame seeds, almonds and sunflower seeds.

When lightly brown, remove from heat and let cool.

For dressing: heat soy sauce, vinegar and sugar. Stir until sugar in dissolved.

Remove from heat and add oil. Refrigerate until ready for use.

I forgot to take a photo when the bowl was full and pretty. Grace did get one, but it was almost gone.
